Finally giving in to a long-standing sea lust, Izzy is determined to become a real sailor this summer. The endeavor, of course, will require just the right shoes. After giving it much thought, Izzy has decided to outfit himself with these classic canvas Top-Siders from Sperry.

Jack Valenti, the big macher who for 38 years headed the Motion Picture Association of America, was Napoleonic (or, more positively, Churchillian) in stature, but, like many diminutive but ultimately powerful men, he skillfully used his attire to make the most of what nature gave him. Sartorialists everywhere will miss him.

Although tuxedos with peak or shawl lapels are more traditional and proper than those with a notch lapel, Izzy has rarely found a shawl lapel that suits his fancy. But by going with narrow lapels, Project Runway’s Tim Gunn demonstrates an exceptional case.
